My Baby’s Got a Name

Who knew that it would take so long to settle on a title! It took five months to get here, which means that my publisher can finally announce my book.

Next week. :)

I know, what a tease. But I am so thrilled about this news, I had to share before I was really able to share. So instead of telling you what title came out on top, I’ll list some that didn’t make the cut (including some I hated and some my publisher didn’t love — I won’t tell you which ones were which).

The Hex Keepers
The Voodoo Queen
The Myth Makers
The Book of Bela Nova
The Charm House
Mothers of Magic
The Divine Daughters
The Modern Magic of the Montrose Women
The Voodoo Women
The Charm Keepers
The Book of Montrose
Ordinary Magic
The Family Folklore
Daughters of Magic

This is about a third to a quarter of the list. A lot of back and forth, but I get it. A title has to resonate with an audience. It’s what evokes the visual that becomes the cover, what most people tend to respond to when purchasing a book. So while the process may have been longer than I anticipated, I appreciate the consideration and thoughtfulness that got us to today.

So please check back soon, or keep watch on social media so you can see what we finally selected for my debut novel.
